Ingredients
Method
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 T sugar
- 3 1/2 cups vodka
- 4 t fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 t rose-water
- Ice cubes
- 8 rose petals, to garnish
Method
Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar and bring to the boil.
Simmer over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
Allow to cool, then stir in the vodka, lemon juice and rose-water.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add ¼ of the mixture and shake.
Strain into two Martini glasses and garnish with a rose petal. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
TASTE’s take:
The addition of rose-water takes out some of the kick that Martini’s tend to have and, combined with sugar syrup, makes for a mouthwatering and refreshing cocktail.
The kind of drink that would team well with equally fragrant foodie offerings, this one’s the perfect start to a themed feast and, since it’s easily made in bulk, it’s a good en masse drinks solution.
