Make wheat- and dairy-free white sauce
This is a novel method of making a flavourful white sauce without the flour.
Method
Peel 1 onion and insert a few cloves into the flesh. Place in a saucepan with 2 cups soya milk and gently simmer for 10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix 25 g rice flour with just enough water to make a paste.
Remove the onion from the milk and slowly whisk in the rice flour mixture. Add 1/2 t salt and 1/2 t white pepper.
Simmer gently for 10 minutes.
