How to use flaxseeds in place of eggs

By TASTE, 26 September 2018

If you’re following a vegan diet or are steering clear of eggs, the flax egg is your new best friend.

To make an egg substitute: simply grind flaxseeds (also called linseeds) into a fine powder in a coffee or spice grinder if you haven’t bought them already ground.

Mix 1 T ground flaxseeds with 3 T water to replace each egg in recipes.

Flax has a slightly nutty flavour, so work with recipes containing complementary flavours. Try it in pancakes, muffins, waffles and quick breads.

Try them in these vegan berry muffins.
