These Turkish delight-inspired oats are the perfect sweet, comforting breakfast on a chilly morning. “I believe breakfast is such a great opportunity to be creative, and for me, oats are that blank canvas that can take on any flavour – sweet or savoury. If you’d like yours a bit sweeter, you can swap out the dark chocolate for milk chocolate.”
Ingredients
Method
- 2 cups full-cream milk
- 1 t salt
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 t rose flavoured essence
- 1 slab Lindt dark chocolate (any percentage you prefer), roughly chopped, plus extra for garnish
- 2 T brown sugar
- Turkish delight, to serve
- dried rose petals (optional)
Method
Ingredients
1. Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan.
2. Add the salt and stir in the oats.
3. Allow to bubble for two minutes before adding the rose essence, followed by the chocolate and sugar. Stir until the chocolate has melted.
4. Dish up the oats and serve with a piece of Turkish delight and a shard of chocolate. Garnish with rose petals.
