Whether you're having a party, movie night or just in the mood for a tasty snack, guacamole is a great option. It's easy to make and customise, plus you can use it in a variety of ways. The sensational dip originated in Mexico in the 1500s, so people have enjoyed it for centuries! Since July is world guacamole month (and avos are in season right now in SA), here are 4 of our favourite guacamole recipes.
1. Ultimate guacamole with sweet potato nachos
We have to start with a classic combo! Nachos are incomplete without a good topping of guac and this recipe is a must-try. Chunky with the perfect balance of spice and acidity, this guacamole recipe is going to be your new favourite. Plus, to make things even more exciting, we made sweet potato "nachos" that add an exciting twist. You can also use traditional nachos if you prefer.

2. Guacamole tagliatelle
Yes, you read right! Abigail Donnelly made a guacamole tagliatelle and it's amazing. The dish comes together in just 25 minutes and the only element that needs to be cooked is the pasta, so you can quickly put it together before loadshedding hits.

3. Bacon-and-“broccomole” dip
Guacamole is already a good dip as is, but you can definitely elevate it! This bacon-and-“broccomole” includes broccoli and cream cheese, giving it an interesting flvour. The bacon bits add a meaty, salty kick, but you can leave them out if you're vegetarian.

4. Parusha Naidoo’s “gut-healing” guacamole
Guac is already a guilt-free treat, but you can make it even more appealing with Parusha Naidoo's recipe. She adds turmeric, mint, coriander and paprika, which, according to her, all have properties that help your gut. Plus, it takes just 5 minutes to whip up.
